The Rosehip Ball
The Kween Koronation and Kostume Ball, the wildest night of race weekend.
One Glorious Night, One New Kween
On Saturday night, after the parade, the break test, and the water portion of the race, the krowd gathers at the American Legion Hall to krown a brand new RoseHips Kween. It is the beating heart of race weekend: a kostume ball with a live band, dancing well into the night, and a pageant unlike anything you have ever seen. Put on your finest, your weirdest, or both. Everyone is welcome on the dance floor.
How the Kween Is Krowned
The pageant begins at 9 pm. Each kontestant must tell one joke, share a recipe, and demonstrate a talent or skill. The glorious judges choose three finalists, and then the krowd’s volume of cheering decides the winner. Be prepared, reflect the Kinetic Spirit, and keep it short. Bribes are essential. Lunacy is helpful. Remember, mediocrity rules.
