Build a Sculpture

Build Something That Moves.

You don’t need to be an engineer. You just need an idea. A kinetic sculpture can be anything , a giant crab, a rolling castle, a pedal-powered parade float , as long as it is entirely human-powered and can cross land, mud, sand, and water. The rest is up to you.

Start Here

1. Dream It , What do you want your sculpture to look like? What story does it tell? Start with a sketch, a napkin, or a wild idea shouted at a friend.

2. Build It , Gather your team, your materials, and your determination. Build a frame that can carry people, float on water, and survive the mud pit. Community workshops and mentors are available.

3. Race It , Show up race weekend, pass inspection, and take your place in the parade. Then race it like you mean it.

How to Enter

Register , Race registration is in person on October 2. Bring your team to sign up on site. Entry fees are kept low to keep participation open to everyone.

Build , Create your human-powered sculpture. It must be able to cross land, mud, sand, and open water , all under human power.

Pass Inspection , Race morning, your sculpture gets inspected for safety and compliance. Nothing complicated , just the basics.

Race , Join the parade, tackle the terrain, and race for glory. Finish line optional. Enthusiasm required.
